Collection: Justine Warner - Textile & Mixed Media Artist

Justine Warner is a textile and mixed media artist based in Sheriff Hutton, near the scenic Howardian Hills. She trained in Interior Design and followed a career teaching Design and Technology. She uses recycled materials and innovative textile techniques. She incorporates reclaimed ties, reused threads, and various fabrics, adding depth and texture to her work. Justine also explores experimental methods, such as painting on Bondaweb, Lutradur, soluble fabric, netting, and applying acrylic paints.

Her fascination with nature, particularly in the trees she frequently depicts, contrasts with the man-made elements in her work, such as urban road markings and patterns in structural elements of the landscape. This juxtaposition between the surrounding landscape, and human interventions offers a unique perspective, showcasing a thoughtful approach to combining natural and constructed environments in her art.
More recently she has taken part in Sky Arts “Landscape Artist of the Year” where she was selected in her episode at Compton Verney. She has exhibited with the National Trust and has previously been Artist in Residence for The Yorkshire Arboretum.
