The Yorkshire landscape is timeless. I will never tire of its rugged beauty and the impact of the ever changing weather on the scenery. I enjoy walking in the path of those that have gone before me; friends, family, strangers, tourists, locals. I'm sure that those people as well as people from generations ago will all have thought the same thing. Through my work I hope to create snapshots of the places we live and love and how we feel when we are there. My paintings often start with an image of a place, then layered with memories and my imagination to create a picture of something evocative, classic and beautiful with a special quality of light. Rarely true to life but more like a memory or a dream of a landscape. A place where we can find what we are looking for.
