Welcome to this one-day workshop in Monoprint. This technique is one of the most enjoyable and accessible processes in printmaking. known as the painters print its directness offers up a multitude of possibilities for the artist you will be taken through the various stages and learn in depth how to moderate and use oil-based relief inks to a professional level. Key requirements are an open mind good humour and a willingness to let go so that together we will have a very special day
One day Monoprint workshop
This one-day session encompasses
- Correct use and mixing of oil-based inks plus additives
- Care and good studio practice pertaining to a busy print environment
- Use and registration of work on the studio etching press
- White line in a black field
- Black line in a dark field
- Frottage
- Stencilling and trace monotype
Although most materials are provided in your w/shop fee
Please bring your own supply of disposable gloves (for hygiene purposes ) and a good barrier cream as we are working with professional oil based inks Vaseline intensive care or similar hand cream is good. Also come suitably attired for a busy studio day i.e. leave the Armani at home ha ha.
Most important of all come with an open mind and feel free to bring any ideas sketchbooks etc if you wish This course is designed to cater for all levels of experience complete beginners to return learners in printmaking seeking to refresh their skills.
