Ciara McClarence Ceramics

Ciara McClarence is a ceramic artist working primarily in stoneware. Her practice centres on wheel-thrown forms, which she decorates using the sgraffito technique to create intricate, layered surfaces.

Her imagery is drawn from the plant and animal life found close to her home in the
Yorkshire Wolds, alongside influences from her Celtic heritage and traditional folk art. These sources combine to give her work a strong sense of place, pattern, and storytelling. After taking time away from ceramics to raise her family, Ciara has recently returned to clay with renewed focus.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Fine and Applied Art, specialising in ceramics,
from the University of Ulster, Belfast.
