Dave Mercer

I’m a contemporary artist creating expressive, semi-abstract landscapes. My journey began with watercolours, but today, I work with acrylic paints, and mixed media such as pastels, soluble pigments, and charcoal.

My digital work blends my artwork with photography and iPad-based painting, exploring new creative possibilities.

In 2022, I was honoured to win the North York Moors National Park Art Award, a milestone in my artistic career.

I am inspired by the North York Moors where I live and the rugged coastlines of Scotland, my work captures these landscapes' emotion, movement, and textures. I aim to evoke a deep connection to nature through layered colours and dynamic marks.

I am based in Great Broughton on the edge of the North York Moors
