Charlotte Ward Ceramics - Raku Horse Head

A magnificent horse sculptural head, Raku fired with a beautiful patina and oil effect glazing from the firing process, unique piece which would sit well on a large plinth as a statement in a country home, or equestrian enthusiast with a love for horses and ceramics.

The base of this piece has been burnt with the old Japanese technique of Yakisugi which preserves the wood. The cracked effect all adds to the impact of the piece which occurs when firing in the Raku kiln. The sculpture is filled internal with epoxy resin which finishes the piece.
