Olivia Dunn, Just Florence - Towards Tomorrow

My work is almost always figurative; it is intimate, with the female form being a constant thread throughout. For me art is about the human experience and communicating this by creating paintings and drawings with a strong narrative element. ‘Towards Tomorrow’ explores the universal experiences of vulnerability and strength and how these can coexist within us. The figure is of a woman in the countryside, looking windswept but finding her own path, resilient. She is not alone, the birds circle around her offering connection and comfort as they watch overhead, a reassuring presence, connecting and grounding her. 

The birds are her guardians as she finds her way towards tomorrow.
